He gazes through half-closed eyes upon the world that he has ruled by force and wit. He is the master of all he sees. His swirling mane frames a handsome face, which although it has begun to crumble is still stern, reflecting the wisdom, reached through maturity. This sculpture was built from the inside out beginning with the skull, adding the muscles and finally the skin and fur. However it is the spirit and expression that emanates from Old Monarch that makes this a very beautiful sculpture. |
